About us
Founded in 2011, Berga Recycling was born from the vision of two recycling entrepreneurs in Quebec, Canada, Bertrand and Gaëtan, hence the name Berga.
While Gaëtan was working for a recycling company, he was shocked to find that no comprehensive solution existed in the field of commercial and industrial recycling. From then on, he began to think of ways to centralize suppliers and facilitate buyer searches. It was with these goals in mind that Berga Recycling was founded.
The ultimate goal of Berga: to build a global network supported by a user-friendly and efficient web platform that would bring together all players in the recycling field, offering them a comprehensive, quick, and effective solution.
To achieve this, Berga Recycling set no geographical boundaries to its activities and excluded no type of recycled products. It thus developed considerable expertise in international trade logistics, which it leveraged for the benefit of companies transforming and producing recycled materials. In Quebec, Berga is a major player in the transport of recycled paper and plastic materials from sorting centers to its local and international clients.
In June 2022, Berga took a new international turn by joining the BEWI group, a European organization aiming to expand its market in the field of recycled polystyrene and contribute to a circular economy by collecting 60,000 MT by 2026.
Berga is now part of the BEWI Circular Group, a division of the larger BEWI ASA with over 3,000 employees worldwide.
